Short stories

Although I am a bit of an artist, I am a writer first and foremost.  My soul breathes the written word and my very essence sings its songs.  Art may be something that I do, but writing is who I am.  Although I write novels, on the rare chance that I get to compose a short story, I find it especially liberating.  It amazes me what can be told in the form of a short story.  Although I write sociopolitical intrigue, as well as stories of war and conquest, I enjoy stretching out my mind and my thoughts to other genre.  Through writing, one can create a world that their readers would love to live in, and with a single twist change it to one that they were glad they didn't.  With the right words, the reader can come to love and to hate, to laugh and to cry, and for a time exist outside of their own experience.  Sometimes, as is the case with "Lessons: an Intellectual Debate," and with "Timing is Everything," my short stories are the forum for philosophical discourse.  For the moment, I have but a few offerings here, but in time there will be more.  Since I am taking a creative writing course this semester, I will be glad to publish my stories on this website.
