| August 28 | Problems 3 & 29 were discussed in class. A hint was given for problems 17 & 18. They are not due until August 30. |
| August 30 | Class met in SH 532 to work on the 2.1 Activities. Turn in problems 17 & 18 on p. 22. Read Chapter 2 and do problems 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 23, 24, 28, 33, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49. |
| September 4 | Labor Day -- No Class |
| September 6 | Turn in problems 20, 22, & 28 on pp. 22 & 23. In class we went over the homework problems, worked with a geometry "Proofkit", discussed rules of logic and basic geometry definitions from Chapter 2. |
| September 11 | Turn in problems 14 & 23 on pp. 49 & 50. In class we finished going over the geometry definitions and discussed Ceva's Theorem. |
| September 13 | We first discussed Menelaus's Theorem and the nine-point circle. The class then went to SH 532 to work on the 3.1 Activities. Turn in problems 36 & 38 on p. 51. Read Chapter 3 and do problems 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 24, 25, 26, 32, & 33. |
| September 18 | Turn in problems 43 & 47 on pp. 51 & 52. We discussed Lab Activities 1-5, Theorem 3.2 and Problem 1(a). |
| September 20 | Turn in problems 3 & 7 on p. 79. We discussed Problem 1(b) & 1(c) as well as Activities 6-8. We reviewed for Exam 1. |

| September 27 | Turn in problems 11 & 14 on p. 79. We went through the proof of Activity 5 and discussed inversion and Theorem 3.4. Tue did Problem 1(e). |
| October 2 | Turn in problems 15 & 24 on p. 79 & 80. We met in SH 532 to work on the 4.1 Activities. Read Chapter 4 and do problems 1, 4, 11, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 27. |
| October 4 | Turn in problems 32 & 33 on p. 81. We went over the analytic geometry proof of the orthocenter (p.102) and discussed Activities 1-7 in Chapter 4. |
| October 9 | Turn in problems 4 & 14 on p. 111. We discussed Figure 4.7 and Theorem 4.5, and we did Activities 8 & 9 in class. Theorem 4.6 was discussed through Step 5. |
| October 11 | Turn in problems 16 & 20 on pp. 111 & 112. The class met in the lab and worked on the Activities for Chapter 5. An article on "Square Circles" was handed out. |

| October 23 | Turn in problems 11 & 12 on p.131. We went over the homework from last time and Problem 4 on p. 131. We did Activities 6-8 in class (Ch 6), discussed the definition of an isometry, and the statement of Theorem 6.1. |
| October 25 | Turn in problems 1 & 5 on p. 155. We reviewed for the exam, discussed the homework from last time, and went over Activities 8 & 10 in Chapter 6. We discussed the proof of Theorem 6.1. |
| October 30 | Exam 2: Chapters 3, 4, & 5 |
| November 1 | Turn in problems 11 & 12 on p.156. We began Chapter 7 and did Activities 1-5 in class. Read Chapter 7 and do problems 5, 6, 8, 9, 13, 18. |
| November 6 | Turn in problems 20 & 28 on p. 156 & 157. We finished the Activities in Chapter 7 and discussed the major theorems. A lab exercise entitled "A Fabulous Time with Fractals" and instructions for "Fractal Generator" were handed out. |
| November 8 | Turn in problems 5 & 6 on. p. 175. We met in SH 532 to work on the 8.1 Activities. Read Chapter 8 and do problems 2, 9, 12, 16. |
| November 13 | Turn in problems 9 & 13 on pp. 175 & 176. We discussed the main ideas of Chapter 8: The definition of "symmetry", definition of a group, Activity 5, cycle notation, Leonardo's Theorem, basic symmetries for friezes and wallpaper. We looked at the Kaleidomania Software. |
| November 15 | Turn in problems 2 & 9 on pp.198 & 199. Meet in SH 532 to work on the 9.1 Activities. Read Chapter 9 and do problems 1, 2, 3, 8, 15, 17, 21, 26, 33. |
| November 20-24 | Thanksgiving Vacation |
| November 27 | Turn in problems 12 & 16 on p. 199. We discussed lines, triangle, and circles in the hyperbolic plane. We proved Conjecture 9.2. and the AAS Theorem. |
| November 29 | Turn in problems 1 & 2 on p. 222. We started working on the second part of the Activities in Chapter 9. |
| December 4 | Term papers due*. Turn in problems 8 & 17 on p. 222. We completed the Chapter 9 Activities and reviewed for the final exam. |
