I thought about not putting this page on my webpage because it deals with guns. As you can see, I am going to include it. If you do not like it, tell me and I might just remove it. People shoot guns for fun and I have nothing wrong with that. However what I am against is giving guns to the stupid people. TAKE A SAFETY CLASS.
I am not a gun freak. Glock is a good company, and I look up to them because they came out of nowhere and blew the market away. If I ever open up a business, I hope I have the same success as Gaston Glock, an engineer in Deutsch-Wagram Austria.
I highly advise everybody to take a gun safety class before they fire a gun. SAFETY COMES FIRST.
Glock started as a business that dealt primarily with objects that were plastic and metal. Yet one should never say plastic when dealing with the Glock name. The correct word is polymer. One of their early successes is an entrenching tool that the Austrian military uses, which I keep in my car for snow removal. Their other products are machine gun belts, practice hand grenades, plastic clips, and field knives.
In the early 80's, the Austrian army wanted a new sidearm and the call went out to all gun manufactures. Glock, who never made a handgun before, decided to enter the contest. They submitted their gun, the fourth prototype, and it went through the test. Glock passed the test with flying colors and won the contract. However he was told to add another safety function for the firing pin.
People know Glock handguns as the handgun of the future. The reason for this is because if it construction. The gun is milled out of soft steel, then it goes through a Tenifer chemical process which gives the gun its hardness. To be exact, the Glock finish is the second hardest material known to man, the first being a diamond. There are only 33 parts in the gun, which makes it the gun with the fewest parts. The frame of the gun is a polymer frame (-40C to 70C 158F). This makes the gun the lightest in its class with the largest bullet capacity. (click picture to enlarge)
I currently have three Glocks, the 17 (9mm Lugar), the 30 (.45 ACP) and the 23 (.40 S&W). I have no regrets in buying them. A Glock would be a good gun for a beginning shooter because it is easy to clean, doesn't need much oil (only five drops), is durable, and if they drop it, it will NOT go off. Since it has a polymer frame, it absorbs the recoil. Every shot feels the same since it is a Double Action gun, thus making it a perfect beginners gun.
Any Glock could be frozen in ice, filled with sand and it would come out shooting. The Glock 17, after a modification to its Spring Caps, could be fired underwater. There is a SCUBA club in Florida that carries the Glock 17 when they go shark diving. I have done the Spring Cap modification but the gun will probably never see water.
Glock started with the number 17 and they are now producing the newest version, Glock 36. I have heard many reason on why the first Glock is called the 17, but it is just because it held 17 9mm bullets.

NOTE: In the movie, the officers run in on Trinity and when they draw their guns on her, you hear their guns safeties go off. There is no way that a Glock could make that sound, it was incorporated into the movie to live up the audience. Yet all Glock fanatics thought , "Ya Right".

Basic Firearm Safety Rules
Handle all guns as if they were loaded.
Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction, downrange.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
With a Glock, when your finger is on the trigger, all safeties are OFF. If your finger is off of the trigger, all three safeties are ON.
Don't be an idiot KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER until ready to fire. .Be certain of your target and its surrounding area.
To make a semi-automatic gun safe, ALWAYS drop the magazine and then rack the slide. Many people will rack the slide and then drop the magazine. They think they have cleared the chamber, because they saw it fly out. Actually, they chambered another one. Always do a visual and touch inspection to make sure the gun safe.

This is an excellent video of how a guy was lucky to have a firearm with him. Now, I will not advice any people to carry firearms in their vehicle. However this guy is lucky he had one.
The BMW driver tried to get away from these red necks. He speed up, did U-turns, asked the guy multiple times to stop following him, however these red necks just kept harassing the BMW driver. The BMW drive unknowingly traveled onto a dead end road and he was trapped. The red neck drive then got out of his truck and retrieved a baseball bat from the back of his Toyota pick-up truck. He then walked up to the BMW, with the bat in hand, talking trash. The whole situation changed when the BMW driver got out of his vehicle with a revolver. What would have happened if he did not have the gun, I do not want to think about it, but I am sure the occupants in the BMW would have been injured.
NOTE: This video is time elapse so in reality the whole situation lasted longer then the 6 minutes and 31 seconds that you see.
One red neck actually says while in the truck chasing them, “He is going to wish he was dead before we get done with him. . . . . . Your BMW is going to turn into a can of sardines real quick . . . .”
