introduce myself: I'm Alan Cole, the minister of the congregation
meeting at 26th Street. I work with Blaine Kelly our associate minister
and under the oversight of two godly elders:
Douglass Allan and William Wheeler. I am also privileged to labor with
four humble deacons: Ben Allan, Lonnie Gibson, Jeff Hall, and Dennis
Young. As you have already noticed, our building is located at the
corner of 1st Avenue and 26th Street (East). So it is only about 8
blocks from the University. Over the years, we have been blessed
with a number of college students who have been active in the work of
the church here while pursuing their education. The congregation here is
a close-knit family with open arms, welcoming any who come our way.
We're usually about 150 to 165 strong on Sunday morning. In addition to our meeting on Sunday morning, we meet at 6:00 Sunday evening and 7:00 Wednesday evening. We frequently get together for picnics, covered-dish dinners, various youth activities, etc. The ladies of the congregation, all ages, get together one evening each month for an additional Bible study and fellowship. We have Bible classes for all ages. We have a very active college ministry.
