One year after the Tohoku Kanto Earthquake (March 11, 2011), people in Japan are making every effort to revitalize the disaster area. In this event, a documentary "Wave: Restart from the rubble" will be shown to learn about new strategies of fishermen in Iwate prefecture. We will welcome a special guest, Yumi Kurosawa, a Japanese koto player from NY and enjoy some Japanese traditional music.
This event is dedicated to everyone who supported Japan since last year. In addition, we would like to invite anyone who would like to learn about Japan today. This event is organized by the WV Department of Education, the Japanese Program in the Department of Modern Languages in the College of Liberal Arts, Japan Outreach Coordinator, and Japan Club at Marshall University, and supported by Consulate General of Japan in NY, Japan Foundation in NY, and the Toyota Foundation of WV.
